No. 2 Patrick Street
1988

As the name suggests this is the second album from Irish "super group" Patrick Street, and Andy calls his favorite of all the PS albums; most traditional musicians count it as a classic. One reason is the 6-minute recording of Woody Guthrie's "Tom Joad," the song version of John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath.  Andy does it incredibly well. Period.  The Braes of Moneymore and William Taylor are terrific traditional songs and Andy's "Facing the Chair" is an iconic song of social justice.  The tune sets on this standards in sessions around the world. It's an excellent album all the way around -- there just isn't a lousy track in the bunch.
